I have the honour to acknowledge receipt of your despatch to the effect that the Hong Kong launch, "Tung Kong," had been looted by pirates at Ma Kau on the confines of the Hsin Hui and Shun Te Districts.

I have severally directed the Civil and Military Officials concerned to forthwith surround and arrest the pirates, and have given them half a month within which time they must effect their capture and hand them over to justice.
